Rik Saylor

Rik is a third generation southwest Ohioan with a strong foundation in family and a legacy of integrity. Rik’s heritage of hard work, honesty and excellent service began at the tender age of 11 with his first paper route. After his family moved across town, his second paper route was a daily responsibility after school at 13, in addition to being a kid and his academics.

An avid reader throughout his life and to this day, it’s no surprise he read his first book on business at this point. By 15 he was honored as carrier of the year by the Hamilton Journal with a write up in the paper and a trophy he proudly displays to this day at his Fairfield office.

His entrepreneurial spirit lead him to start his first company at 20 years of age and enter the financial services industry by 23. Night study and industry training added to his life experience and embedded values of excellence. In March of 2011 the memory of his parents was honored when the Fairfield Chamber named him Business Person of the Year. To date this is one of his most cherished awards; second to the carrier award of course. Rik jokingly says, “It only took 35 years to get the second one.”

A Registered Financial Consultant and Investment Adviser Representative, Rik has written and taught public financial educational workshops throughout the Greater Cincinnati and Dayton areas for many years. Rik has been a featured guest speaker for a number of company and retiree groups, church, civic and community events. He is widely recognized for his financial intelligence and ability to “de-mystify” the intricacies of retirement planning.

Today, with over 30 years of experience Rik has assembled a team who has the same values that he lives by. Rik has many accolades in and out of the financial services industry, from charities that include:

  • “An Angel” of the Fairfield Community Foundation
  • Hike for Hospice
  • Joe Nuxhall’s Character Education Fund
  • Wounded Warrior
  • Yellow Ribbon Scholarship Fund
  • Badin High School
  • “Unsung Hero”
  • James & Rose Ann Saylor Integrity in Business and Life Foundation
  • Toys for Tots
  • St Joseph's
  • Marine Toys for Tots Foundation
  • First Tee Character Development Program
  • Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA)
His father, Jim Saylor, a well accomplished and respected local realtor and former Fairfield School Board member, and mother, Rose Ann Saylor, have both passed. Rik cared for his widowed mother for several years after his father’s passing.

He now resides at Walden Ponds with his wife Kim, who is the Director of Marketing at Rik Saylor Financial, along with their blended family. Rik and Kim’s love of the outdoors and adventure are reflected in their pursuits of golf, scuba, sky diving, zip lining, bicycling, soccer and travel to name a few.

Rik reflects with a grateful heart:
  • From his years in scouting to “be prepared”
  • “Good luck is preparation meeting opportunity”
  • “An excellent life is less about what life throws at you and far more about how you choose to respond”
  • “Carpe Diem”
  • “Live, laugh and love largely”
